2012 Mayan Predictions

-

The 2012 Mayan predictions are anything but accurate. They predicted that the world was going to end on December 20, 2012, or on 13.0.0.0.0, the fourteenth b'ak'tun. A b'ak'tun is a period of time equal to 144,000 days. After 13.0.0.0.0, the calendar switches back to 0.0.0.0.1, starting another period. The most recent new period was on August 11, 3114 BCE. This is in Mesoamerican Long Count, the Mayan counting system. People all over the world have been debating whether the world will end, although to you, it probably sounds ridiculous.

2012 does have a quite a few unlucky things in it. First, it is supposed to be the height of the Modern Solar Maximum, which could lead to a solar superstorm. If that solar superstorm does happen, and it is the worst case scenario, that would pretty much be the end of the human world, unless people prepare for it.

Another thing that might happen is a collision course with another near earth asteroid (not Apophis!). Actually, it's not going to hit, but it'll come very close to Earth.

Goerge Ure, one of the creators of web bots, says that web bots can be used to tell disasters. He says he could tell before the 911 disaster, and he now says that the world will end on December 20, 2012. He also says he can predict natural disasters, like hurricanes. We'd like to see him prove it.

Another theory is the Zero or Ching theory. In the 1970s, some people decided to write a program to find the Universe's interconnectedness (we think that might have something to do with Quantum Mechanics). It turns out, they calculated that the Universe would be at infinite complexity in November, 2012. That means that everything imaginable will happen (possible or impossible, although in that case, it'd all be possible). When the inventors of this program found out about the Mayan predictions, they decided to move it so the Mayan and the infinite complexity happen on the same day.

Probably nothing will happen, except you'll be struggling to keep awake on December 21st! But we wrote this page for people interested in these predictions, and, so people can be aware of what other people think around them. And last, in case the world does end in 2012!
