Broccoli is a very healthy vegetable!
Broccoli is probably one of the vegetables you eat most, but you probably haven't grown it. Broccoli is full of vitamins C, K, and A, and has some cancer-fighting properties. Boiling broccoli, unfortunately takes a lot of those functions out, but frying and steaming do not.
Plant broccoli ¼'' deep, indoors, for 4-6 weeks. Then transplant every 12-18'' and rows of 24-36''. If you don't need to walk in between, you can plant them further. If you plant it in mid or late spring, it will probably grow up in the summer. Plant it after danger of a serious frost. If you have hot summers, and no danger of serious frost, then you can plant it any time except spring. If it grows up in the summer, and it's too hot, it will never grow any broccoli. It will go directly to a flower.
