Cheap ways to grow an indoor herb garden.

The Classic Old Container Method

Cut the tops off of milk jugs and fill them with soil to grow your plants in.

In A Bag

Get a plastic grocery bag (from Vons, Ralphs, Trader Joes, etc.), a clear plastic bag, or a black garbage bag. Fill it with soil and grow your plant. When the plant starts growing, loosly tie the top up so soil doesn't fall out.

  • Very Cheap/Free
  • Can have a huge pot (a black trash bag)
  • You can grow big plants

Cons

  • Hard to make - tricky keeping soil in
  • chemicals could leak and kill plants

Plastic Pots

Go to the store and get a plastic pot made for gardening.

Pros

  • Durable
  • Can have a huge pot
  • You can hang some

Cons

  • Costs money
